Welcome to the 1st Annual Hair & Beauty Expo Competition
The planners of this event have a vested interest in aiding businesses in development, marketing, and publicity. The recent economic downturn has affected all of us, but we are sure that cosmetologists and barbers have felt it like no one else. Our goal is to promote your business, style, and individual flair through a healthy competition. We are seeking the top stylists in the State and Beyond to participate in this great event. The opportunities presented with this show are endless.
The rules are simple...have the best skit, fantasy style, and presentation that only your salon can deliver!
The Hair & Beauty Expo 2011 Competition is open to any Licensed Cosmetologist.
The Competition is an addition to the Expo to provide Cosmetologists an opportunity to not only showcase their work,
but to also receive accolades for being the Top Stylist and win one of the top three Cash Prizes.
1st Place Winner Receives $1000 and Trophy
2nd Place Winner Receives $300 and Trophy
3rd Place Winner Receives $200 and Trophy
Stylists are permitted to complete a skit of no more than 5-8 minutes, which can include a maximum of 10 people.
Judging is based on a 20 point scale which includes points for the skit, a fantasy hairstyle, and overall creativity.
The Stylist with the highest cumulative score will be declared the winner.
Competition Entrants Receive 2 free tickets with paid fee.
A Non-Refundable entry fee is required to participate in the Competition.
Stylists are encouraged to reserve hotel rooms immediately as the Hair & Beauty Expo 2011 does have a block of rooms and this event takes place during the

Dr. Betty Franks has over 30 years experience in the
field of cosmetology and is on the cutting edge of hair and design, providing
clients with the latest styles and techniques available in the market. The
repertoire of hairstyles include, coloring, weaving, natural, (Twist, Dreads,
etc.), infusion and much more. Betty has
evolved into an expert in all hair types and textures.

Theresa Jones
Ms. Theresa Jones is the owner of Hair m Porium Salon in Kinston, NC as well as a stylist at BK (718) The Hair Gallery in Charlotte, NC/Ms. Jones has been a licensed cosmetologist for 15 years. A licensed cosmetology instructor for 2 1/2 years. She is also an NC State Board Continuing Education Provider and a licensed Massage and Bodyworks therapist (NCL #8405)
Ayana Graves
Ms. Ayana Graves is a native of Mount Holy, NJ and was raised in Lynchburg, VA. she was a 1993 graduate at Dudley Cosmetology University in Kernersville, NC. Ayana has been a Salon owner for 15 years at Ayana's Hairport Inc. located in Greensboro, NC. She has also been an educator for Ashtae products for 12 years. Her work has been featured continuously in Black Hair, Hype Hair, and Universal Salons magazines.Ronnie Jones
Instructor Hair Design School Durham NC, with 30 yrs Experience. He studied with Reggie Wells (makeup artist for Oprah Winfrey)
